We Need YOU to Tutor Again!

Two hours a week can make all the difference in the life of a student who is struggling in reading.

We know there's still a good month of summer left, but we are busy preparing for STAIR to launch again in September at 14 sites. Please let us know if you plan on serving as a tutor this coming school year. Your Site Director will be reaching out to you in the next few weeks. If you have any questions in the meantime feel free to contact David Moss, Director of Volunteer Engagement, at dmoss@stairbirmingham.org or 205-730-7799 ext. 1.

I plan on being a tutor again during the 2018-19 school year.

"The program produces tangible results, allowing us to see the difference being made in these children’s lives."

"STAIR is a wonderful program that helps meet the needs of children who just need a boost in reading. It is what retired people all over America need to be doing to fight illiteracy. Seniors who volunteer their time and talents with school children can become part of the solution to our educational woes today."

"This is my third year as a Stair volunteer. The experience has been most rewarding for me. I look forward to being with my student every day."
