Lunch and Learn

From Striving to Arriving: What to do if a student is not yet reading independently

A striving reader is one who may not be reading full words yet, but they are striving daily to make connections to the print they see all around them.  For "late bloomers", confidence and reading strategies can be built simultaneously when they begin to put the pieces of the literacy puzzle together.  Often times many pieces are there, but a few missing pieces are preventing them from connecting the dots.  This workshop will focus on usable strategies to fill in the missing pieces and build a bridge to independent reading.

You're invited to join us at STAIR's next Lunch and Learn which will be led by Joel Smith, STAIR's Director of School Partnerships.
